 August's Featured Shop:

The Well Dressed Home

You gotta love the charm of Country Village...really! Where else will you see a hen strolling through your front door, slowly sachet her way around as if browsing for a new lamp, and then exit out the back.

Yup, I named her Penny, and she was a welcome guest at The Well Dressed Home for a week or two. Penny would wander in occasionally and I would giggle as I watched her 'fake shop' until the morning the Friday Farmers Market began.  On that day she came early, she seemed unusually agitated and nervous. She worked her way around until she found a quiet spot behind the counter.

Once settled, she rested for over 2 hours. During this time I proudly shared with each and every customer that I had a special guest in the store; everyone was as charmed as I was. After her time of rest, she was, in a rather swift action, up and out; but left something behind. An egg! Yup, there it was...I thought it a perfect gift.

It touched my heart that she felt safe enough to come in my little shop, seeking refuge from the crowds, kids and dogs of a busy Friday Market. Now, is that not charming? You won't find that stuff just everywhere, but yes, you will find it here, in Country Village.
Stop in and see for yourself. Hopefully you will agree that The Well Dressed Home  is a safe cozy place too.

Rosie the cow has been found and returned to Susan's Sweets!

Thanks to the keen eye sight of three local teenagers, Rosie has returned home to Susan's Sweets!

The boys found the cow in a dumpster, took a snapshot with their cell phone and brought her home. Sean Anderson, Ben Campbell (both from Bothell) and Austin Meier is from Woodinville.

Rosie is a little worse for wear but nothing a little black paint can't fix. Owner Susan Swanigan will be bringing Rosie inside each evening until a more permanent berth can be found.

This happy ending is twofold: Rosie's home and Susan's Sweets has added the fabulous 'cow pies' as an addition to her regular stock of sweets.
