December's Featured Shop:

Bella and Max

Bella and Max originally opened their doors on the Boardwalk Building in January 2007.  At that time, the space was two stories and they knew that they wanted to open a children's clothing boutique on the main level, but they had to think of what to do with the space upstairs.  Knowing that there was a need for a children's hair salon on the north end of the eastside, that is what they decided to do..... open a kids hair salon!

Bella and Max opened the doors with a goal to always provide great customer service and to stay on top of all the current trends, with fun gifts and unique children's items.

In March of of 2009 Bella and Max moved from the boardwalk location to a one story space back by the park. Now everything could be located on one floor, it would be stroller accessible and parents could look around while their children got their hair cut.

All the hard work, long hours and dedication to finding the best people to give children spectacular haircuts paid off this year for Bella and Max. They were the winners in King 5 Evening Magazine's Best in Western Washington for Best Children's Haircut! It was both an honor (customers voted!) and a blessing, Bella and Max got a two minute feature spot on Evening Magazine (you can see it here).

One of the reasons Bella and Max has been able to weather the ups and downs of the economy is that they change and shift with the times. They have moved the baby / toddler salon to the front of the store and they are currently building out the back of the shop to accommodate older kids, tweens and adults. Soon parents will be able to get their hair cut at the same time as their children, in a space that is comfortable and the environment older and sophisticated. Teens will be able to get their hair styled before a big dance and classes will be offered for children and adults.... like braiding, proper hair washing and styling among other fun things. Birthday parties will soon follow!

The retail space is not as large but you can still find quality baby gifts, unique local artist products and special hand-picked items. It might not be as large as before, but the items selected are certainly as special as they have always been, if not more!

Bella and Max will continue to do their best to offer outstanding customer service, online appointment scheduling, a punch card program and cash discounts (giving the credit card fees back to their customers). Bella and Max was built around offering the best in quality and service they could for their customers and continue to do so five years later!
